Fees

Medicare Rebated Fees – With a referral, Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) or Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Plan

Treatment sessions under a MHCP: $190 minus a rebate from $85.20 – $96.65 for each session (Up to 10 sessions per calendar year; a review by the referring GP, Paediatrician or Psychiatrist is required after the first 6 sessions).

Treatment sessions under a CDM (Registered Psychologists Only): $190 minus a rebate of $60.35 for each session (Up to 5 sessions per calendar year).

Trauma-focused Treatment (e.g., EMDR, Schema Therapy, TF-CBT) and appointments involving the use of Virtual Reality: $210. These treatments are also rebate-able through Medicare or your private health insurance where applicable.

Assessment of Complex Neurodevelopmental Disorders (including Autism Spectrum Disorder) conducted by Registered Psychologists: $480 for each standardised assessment component minus a rebate of $96.65 for each session (Up to 4 session in one sitting at this practice; Up to 8 in a person’s lifetime). Referral must be obtained from a Paediatrician or a Psychiatrist and you must be less than 25 years old to be eligible for these rebates. More information about assessments below.

 

Private Fees

Out of pocket cost for consultation with a Counsellor, Social Worker or Registered Psychologist – $190

Out of pocket cost for consultation with a Counsellor, Social Worker or Registered Psychologist on Saturdays – $210

Couples Counselling – Initial appointment (1.5 hour appt) – $250 ( $160 deposit is required upon booking the first appointment on a Saturday)

Subsequent Couples counselling appointments – $220

Family Counselling – $260 or $280 on Saturday

Rebate may be possible from your private health insurance company

 

Third Party Arrangements

Compulsory Third Party / Workers Compensation: No charge to client, third party responsible for payment

Department of Veteran Affairs: No charge to client, third party responsible for payment

Victim Services: No charge to client, third party responsible for payment

NDIS: No charge to client, however, as Perfect Sense Counselling is not registered with the NDIA as a provider of services, clients are able to claim for these sessions if their NDIS budget is Plan or Self-managed Only. The funding categories that can be used at our practice are the following:

Payments are required on the day of your appointment.

Late out-of-pocket fee of $100 is required for appts cancelled with less than 24 hours notice. This also applies to Compulsory Third Party / Workers Compensation schemes. For NDIS participants, at least 48 hours notice is required otherwise they will be charged a full session which will be taken out of their NDIS funding.

Cognitive Assessment: $480
Academic Assessment: $1,200
ADHD Assessment: $2,300 to $4,450
Autism Assessment: $3,280 to $5,050
Autism + Cognitive Assessment: $4,000 to $6,150
 
Please note:
  • The costs of these assessments can vary depending on which component has already been completed prior (which will bring the overall costs down). The breakdown of costs will be confirmed with you during your initial appointment.
  • The prices listed do not include Medicare rebates which would bring the “out-of-pocket” costs down.
  • Payments for all assessment components that made up each assessment are payable at the end of each appointment.
